Improve Read Replica Utilization with Database Proxies

Improve Read Replica Utilization with Database Proxies

Horizontally scaling your SQL database involves separating the write-master from read-only servers. This allows the write server to perform “expensive” operations rather than processing often redundant read queries. However, writing and immediately reading from the read replica can result in synchronization issues.

Database proxies work with data-grids to route queries to the appropriate database node for fresh data. This solves data consistency issues when data is replicated between nodes. In this session, you will learn how to configure the Heimdall proxy to transparently scale-out the database tier, without code changes

Includes live demo and discussion.
