Regulation is transforming the way banks are doing operations. New requirements are tremendously increasing the calculations that need to be done in both real time and on an overnight basis.

Front-to-risk consistency is forcing banks to reconsider how their current quant platforms are designed and managed as they try to bring down silos and ensure consistency across departments. This means they are now considering disruptive technology to achieve the agility required by the front office, the performance required by their risk department, and, of course, temper their overall IT cost.

On the capital markets side, the fundamental review of the trading book (FRTB) and xVA are pushing the boundary of HPC, with billions of prices required to be priced within hours. To achieve such targets, database access to get portfolio or market data details are not enough. Document stores and in-memory computing can avoid bottlenecks in data access and data storage.

In other areas of the bank such as retail or corporate banking, large numbers of records must be aggregated to provide a consolidated view and deliver a higher value to the users. In-memory data management and computing is key to achieve those aggregations in a low latency manner.

Come and join me for a session covering these points and to find out how in-memory computing allows Misys to deliver a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for the financial industry to achieve fast calculations and large data set aggregation.
